Dr. Katherine George is a native of South Carolina, hailing from the Pendleton area. Dr. George knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. In high school she attended the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, and after graduation she attended the University of Georgia, ultimately getting her doctorate from UGA’s College of Veterinary Medicine. (Go Dawgs!)
It was at the University of Georgia’s Phi Kappa Literary Society that she met her husband of over twenty years. Together they have two amazing children. Their oldest is following in Dr. George’s footsteps and will be attending the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics in the fall. The other is currently working towards being an Eagle Scout.
Their family also currently contains four feline children: a Devon Rex named Selena, a Persian Pixiebob named Ursula, a Calico named Nebula and poly-dactyl black cat named Cosmos. However, these are just four in a long line of animals that has included dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, fish, lizards, birds, hamsters and guinea pigs.
Dr. George has special interest in feline medicine, small exotic medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2002 and has been practicing in Spartanburg for over 20 years.When not working in the clinic, Dr. George is an avid hiker who enjoys camping, working with plants, and she loves a good book.
Ashley is originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She recently moved to South Carolina. She started in the vet medicine field in 2015. Ashley has always had a passion for helping animals and seeing them live long, healthy lives. When she isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Her family includes two kids, Eli and Allie, and her two furry kids, Waylon and Dea. Ashley looks forward to seeing you and your furry friends at Hope Animal Hospital soon!
Shannon is originally from Seneca, South Carolina. She obtained her Veterinary Technician license in 2019 from Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC. She has been working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the Upstate. Her experience ranges from small animal medicine to multiple species of exotic animals. She is passionate about all animals with a special interest in felines, canines, and exotics. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside, gardening, reading, cooking, and playing video games. Her fur family consists of 4 animals: a beagle named Shiloh, a Russian Blue named Diamond, a gray cat named Fizgig, and a three-legged tabby named Paul. She can’t wait to meet you and your pet family!
Jenny is native to South Carolina. She was born in Greenville County and moved to Spartanburg County in 2010. She began working in the animal care field in 2009 at an animal shelter in Greenville. Jenny is the mother to 5 children. Her oldest son joined the Marines in 2023, and she is incredibly proud of him. She has a fur family of 10 pets, including 3 dogs (Bowie, Gracie, and Peppa), 2 cats (Mitch & Stitch), 4 chickens (Mary Kate, Ashley, Perdita, and Chicken Nugget), and a Senegal parrot (Ben). Additionally, she is looking forward to the arrival of her first grandchild in September. Jenny is excited about meeting and helping all the people and pets in her community!
