Preventive Health Care
& Senior Care

At Hope Animal Hospital, we value the significance of disease prevention for your furry friend. Our recommendations span from dietary adjustments to personalized physical therapy sessions. Our veterinarian advises annual blood tests for early disease detection in your pet. For senior pets, we suggest biannual visits to our veterinary hospital in order to address any age-related concerns that may arise.

Dental Care

Maintaining good dental health is crucial for pets. Tartar buildup, gingivitis, and tooth decay are common issues that develop over time, especially since most pets don't brush their teeth. Dental problems can lead to infections in your pet's heart, kidneys, and other organs, causing discomfort. Our veterinary hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital dental X-rays. Our team is highly skilled in the latest dental techniques, and our veterinarian has undergone training with board-certified veterinary dentists. We're dedicated to educating you about the importance of dental care, ensuring your pet stays happy and healthy for years to come.

Ear Disease

Ear disease, or "otitis," ranks among the most frequent ailments our veterinarian encounters. Often triggered by underlying allergies in your pet, it manifests in symptoms like ear or face rubbing and shaking. At Hope Animal Hospital, our aim is to address your pet's ear issues promptly, mitigating current infections and safeguarding against future ones.

Heartworm & Flea Prevention

Heartworm and flea defenses have gotten a makeover, becoming super effective and oh-so-easy to use! Our vet has done the homework, sorting through all the cool options on the market to pick out the safest and snazziest ones for your furry pals. Because every pet's a star with unique needs, we'll craft a personalized prevention plan just for them. And guess what? We've got the hookup straight from the manufacturers, complete with a guarantee! Let's keep those critters feeling fly and fancy-free!

Many online pharmacies do not purchase their products directly from the manufacturer, and some of the products purchased for those pharmacies are from foreign countries. Our prices are often lower than internet pharmacies because the manufacturer provides us with rebates or get-one-free programs. Your pet's health and safety are our top priority, so schedule an appointment with us today.

Spay & Neuter

At Hope Animal Hospital in Spartanburg, we understand the importance of spaying or neutering to control the pet population and minimize unwanted behaviors. We're dedicated to making this process as stress-free as possible for your furry friend. Our veterinarian at Hope Animal Hospital takes extra precautions, including placing an IV catheter in every patient to ensure hydration before, during, and after anesthesia. This not only promotes comfort post-surgery but also helps prevent future kidney issues.

During this procedure, our team suits up in sterile gowns and gloves, utilizing sterile instruments and sutures. We operate in a dedicated surgery room meticulously cleaned for this purpose. Your pet's vital signs—including blood pressure, oxygen level, temperature, heart rate, and rhythm—are closely monitored throughout. Pain management is a top priority; we administer three different pain medications during surgery. Plus, all sutures are placed under the skin and dissolve on their own. Most procedures are wrapped up within a few hours.

Vaccines

Vaccines play a crucial role in safeguarding your pet's health for years to come. Through thorough research, we've identified the safest and most effective vaccines for your furry companion. Core vaccines are administered once every three years, while all vaccines are customized to suit your pet's unique lifestyle.

X-rays

X-rays are a vital tool we utilize at Hope Animal Hospital to detect a range of health issues, from fractured bones to cancer. They play a pivotal role in diagnosing numerous conditions. Our veterinarian and team have undergone extensive training with radiologists to master the art of imaging your pet effectively.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also known as a sonogram, is a key diagnostic tool for identifying various diseases and illnesses in pets. Our veterinarian and team have dedicated numerous hours to training with radiologists, honing their skills in imaging your beloved companion.

Exotic Pets

Here at Hope, we know pets are not limited to cats and dogs. This is why we’re happy to be able to offer care to what some consider as nontraditional pets or exotics. We’re happy to be able to provide care to a variety of small mammals available as pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, & ferrets. Additionally, we’re also happy to be able to offer care for snakes, lizards, and other reptiles, as long as they are a non-venomous species. We recommend annual wellness exams for all exotic pets just as you would for your feline and canine pets. During these visits, we’re able to discuss nutrition, husbandry, overall care, and any changes in feeding habits & activity levels.
